Summer Nights in Culver City: Music, Community, and Culture
If you’re new to Culver City — or just curious about what makes our little corner of Los Angeles so special — let me give you one of my favorite examples: the Culver City Summer Concert Series.
Every week throughout the summer, the city partners with the Culver City Arts Foundation (which I’m proud to serve on as a board member) to bring free live music to the heart of our community. And when I say free, I mean it — no tickets, no wristbands, no hassle. Just show up, bring your friends, and enjoy.
The lineup is always diverse, with something for everyone: jazz, rock, Latin beats, world music, and more. You’ll see kids dancing up front, families spread out on picnic blankets, couples enjoying a date night, and neighbors reconnecting after a long week. It’s one of those magical moments where Culver City really feels like a small town in the middle of a big city.
What makes it even better?
Great food options nearby — grab dinner before the show or dessert after.
Bikeable and walkable if you live in the neighborhood.
A space for all ages — from toddlers to grandparents, everyone ends up dancing by the end of the night.
Not every city invests this much in culture and community, and it’s one of the reasons Culver City is such a special place to live. Free entertainment, world-class talent, and neighbors who actually come together to enjoy it — that’s the Culver City difference.
So, if you’re already a resident, I hope to see you out there this summer. And if you’re just discovering Culver City, the concert series is the perfect way to experience the spirit of our community. Come for the music, stay for the people — and you might just find yourself wanting to call this place home.
